Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Novelty ID

My friend is using a 'novelty id' which is from another country to get into pubs. He is 20 years old but the id says he is 21. it is not a copy of a real ID, but rather a made up one. Is this considered a fake ID? what can he be charged with? And can he get deported for it? he is using it in NJ and NY

Re: Novelty ID

Your friend is an idiot. Why is he jeopardizing his status in this country with fraudulent efforts to disguise his violation of the law against underage drinking. If he is deported he deserves it.

Re: Novelty ID

Yes, it is considered a fake ID, and yes it could possibly affect his immigration status if he is arrested. If he does get arrested please contact me to discuss the charge. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
