Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New Jersey

Juvenile, First time offender, Possession of Marijuana

I am 15 and have never been in

trouble with the law before. I get A's

and B's in my honors classes in

highschool and participate in

extracurricular activities such as

sports.

I was arrested the other night for

posession of 1 grams of marijuana.

The officer never mentioned intent to

distribute or anything.

I was wondering if you could please

help me find out what could be the

outcome of my case. Do I need a

lawyer? Will I get probation? How

much could my fine be.

You need an attorney. Either you will hire one or the court will give you a public defender. I assume you told your parents about this, so they should be the one to hire an attorney for you. Based upon the facts thta you told me, I would be looking to get the case dismissed. As a result, you won't have a record and there will be no real significant fine to speak of.
