Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

Ordinance Violations

I am inquiring about the effects of violating an ordinance. IT has to do with alcohal and possesion as a minor. I was wondering if you could tell me what happens with ordinance violations and what are the usual punishment involved. Especially if you have never been in trouble before.

Re: Ordinance Violations

Ordinances are the laws of a particular town. If you are convicted of violating an ordinance, a fine will be determined by the Municipal Court Judge and once paid, there is no further obligation. No statewide record is kept of ordinance violations. There may also be other requirements that the Judge is authorized to issue as a part of his/her finding that you will also need to comply with. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since you have not retained an attorney in this case, before you take any further action, you should contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010. If you mention LawGuru, there will be no charge for your first consultation. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
