can a husband deny his stay at home wife access to bank accounts

Your question is only the beginning of the problem. I can not tell whether you are the wife, or the husband.

Reality is that a husband can prevent the Wife from seeing the bank account information. However, I am pretty sure that would be a good enough reason to justify a divorce ('sufficient legal grounds'). And during the divorce proceeding, the Husband would have to give the information anyway.

It seems that you really need to talk to an attorney and find out what your rights are, and figure out what you can do.
