Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I am in the middle if a divorce,I left the martial residence about 1mo ago ( I got tired of the name calling and threats to cancel car insurance etc. if I didnt leave). He changed the locks about 1 week after l left I still have some things there what can I do? My attorney says nothing.

Either you need to get on the same page with that attorney or you may want to consider dumping him/her and hiring a new one. There are options to get your personal items. One option would be to file a motion with the court. However, if you are in the middle of a divorce, it is hard to offer specific advice and to know why your current attorney is not responding. You should schedule an appointment with your current attorney to review this situation. Unless there is some court order or domestic violence restraining order, you have the right to have access to your home.
