Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

What are my options here? My daughter is 5 and goes to kindergarten full day. Her mother (my ex) has primary. We do have joint legal custody and shared physical custody. I just found out she has missed 8 days of school already. She's only been in school 3 months and still has 6 months left in the school year. I am very concerned about her education. My ex never finished high school. What can I do before this gets out of hand

As a parent with joint legal custody, you have the right to be informed of all issues involving your daughter including the reasons that she was not in school. Your first step should be to inquire of your ex as to the reasons that the child was not in school. You may also want to discuss this with her teacher. Ultimately, your only relief may be with the Court by the filing of a Motion. In the most serious of cases, the Court may require a change of primary custody.
