Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Slip and Fall

On 7/6/99 I slipped and fell in a major mall while walking. I slipped on a piece of flexible plastic that was on the floor. I injured my knee.I repoterd the accident to the mall security staff. There are video surveilance cameras on the premises. The security officer I spoke to, and who filled out the report, said that the plastic square looked as if it had come off a display or something similiar. I gave her the plastic material.

I'm finding it difficult to walk and climbing stairs is very painful.Should I talk to a lawyer?

Re: Slip and Fall

You should definitely speak with a lawyer as soon as possible. This type of case can be handled on a contingent fee basis, which means that you pay nothing if there is no recovery. If you want to speak with me about this, call my office at 856-546-8010. Good luck!

Re: Slip and Fall

I would suggest you talk to a lawyer as soon as possible. Many attorneys will take this type of case on a contingency basis which means that you pay only for expenses (like court costs and expert fees if necessary) unless you recover against the mall. If the attorney is able to settle with mall or wins a verdict against them, you would pay the attorney a percentage of the amount you recover. If I can be of further assistance, you can call my office at 201 641-1605 or fax me at 201 641-5253.
