Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Threat of being Sued

I purchased a horse which in 8/2003 I gave back to the person I purchased the horse from as I could no longer afford to pay board due to several financial hardship situation. The original owner gladly took him back and for as long as I could I paid for his medications so he could be used for lessons. In 2006 I paid for a medical bill when he was ill to help the person out. After 2 years of not hearing from her, seeing no invoices for board and having no signed board contract she is now threatening to sue me for $13,000.00 in back board. As stated I have made some payments to her for blanket repair and costs but never have made any payments for board for the horse and as stated no contract was signed nor have I in 3 years received any bills until this month; she is now billing me for Dec, 2006 as well as Jan-March, 2007.

Re: Threat of being Sued

You didn't really ask a question, but without a contract, I doubt she'll get far.
