Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Termination of employment

On Sat. July the 1st, I was scheduled to work from 6pm-2am. At 3:45am I had a fellow worker call down to the supervisor that I was leaving at 4am. instead of the supervisor comming up to see why I wanted to leave after 10 hours of work, he sent up the head of QC. When he came up he got within a foot or two of my face to tell me if I left it would be considered abandament of my shift. When I tride to explain to him why I wanted to leave, he told me I threaded him.Because I pointed my finger when I was talking. I told him bull shit, then he accused me of using provanity. When I tried to talk to him more he said it didn't matter & that I had to leave. That I abanded my job. I was still in my work area & still working. He escourted me down to the time clock & off the property. He told me to leave I never left on my own. Is this A wrongful termination case?

Re: Termination of employment

Probably not. However, if you're employer was not paying you time and a half (i.e. if you were making $10/hour they'd have to pay you $15/hour) for all hours you worked beyond 40 in any given week, you may be entitled to recover for unpaid overtime. If you'd like to discuss this further please call me for a free consultation.
