Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Breaking the lease

My lease will end at the end of February, but I would like to break the lease. I looked at the agreement and I didnt see anything about Early Termination. I give my landlord 30 days notes. Am I will be responsible to pay lease thru end of February?

Thank you,

Irina

Re: Breaking the lease

You still might be responsible for the rent for the months left on the lease following your departure. However, the landlord has a duty to mitigate damages and put forth reasonable efforts to find a tenant.
