Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

My landlord leased an apartment to me. When it was time to collect the security deposit, it came out that the landlord on the lease is not actually the owner of the apartment. Was this a legal lease?

You may have a claim here, I am not sure. If the person who leased the apartment and took your security is NOT the owner, then they have some serious explaining to do. It may not be a legal lease, and you may have some rights here.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and I will go over this with you, and give you some advice.
