Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

I am living in a basemnt apartment. Since its illegal the was no written lease and the owner wants to kick out my family so his parents can live in the basement, that includes my 2 yr old son and I informed him I can't find a place to move and he says its too bad. I don't know what to do, do I have to leave if I have no place to go? Can he kick me out with no written lease? Do I have any rights?

If the apartment is illegal, then...your landlord owes you six month's rent, as provided by statute.

I would be happy to meet with you and explain how your can make your landlord pay this money to you. Then you will have the money you need to move. I am in Hackensack, near Route 80, and only a short drive from your place. Please give me a call.
