Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Tenant vs. Landlord

Does a landlord have the right to enter premises and take pictures without notifying tenant? Or does the landlord have to give notice to tenant about doing such things? And can the landlord file for eviction if rent is not paid before time it is due? Example Rent must paid by the 10th of the month, landlord files for eviction the 5th of the month.

Re: Tenant vs. Landlord

You seem to have the technical defense that the complaint does not state a cause of action because when it was filed the rent was not past due.

The landlord's right to inspect should be set forth in your lease. Taking photographs is a bit more complicated because he is just recording what he saw

while in your apartment.

On the other hand you do have privacy rights which limit the landlord's entitlement to take photographs. It all depends on the facts of your situation. You should give me a call.
