Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New Jersey

death of adversary during civil suit

I have been involved in llandlord-tenant litigation for some time. I just found out that my adversary died months ago. What is the legal and moral obligation of his attorney who is still trying to evict me. There has been no notice to me or the Court.

Re: death of adversary during civil suit

I have read your question. I would need more information to tell you whether there is any effect on the lawsuit.

You should be asking your lawyer about this. If you do not have an attorney, then you should hire one. Eviction is about as serious as any problem could be.

If you would like, give me a call; I am in Hackensack (northern New Jersey). I will be happy to discuss

this with you; a brief telephone consultation will be free.

My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link. Let my secretary know you found me through LawGuru.
