Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New Jersey

Divorce legal malpractice

My lawyer failed to file a response motion to a PL motion; which resulted in a default finding against me. Through out the divorce I was never able to over come the default judgment even with a new attorney. The default resulted in $100k being awarded to my ex-wife. Do I have a case against this lawyer?

What does your current lawyer think? The current lawyer has reviewed the files and facts.

You have not provided enough information for me to have an opinion.

It is possible that you might be able to pursue a legal malpractice action if your lawyer's failure to respond to a motion resulted in you incurring economic damages. We'd need additional information in order to evaluate your potential claim. Please feel free to contact me or any of my partners at the Blume Goldfaden Firm via the profile information provided on this site. We look forward to speaking with you, and will assist you in any way we can.
