Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

Bank lost Lawyer's Personal Injury check for Client

My attorney deposited 3 checks made payable to myself and attorney. These checks were divided by different insurance companies because we sued owner and Property owner.

2 checks cleared and the bank is saying the 3rd check is lost. They can't find it. They were all deposited at the same time in attorney trust account. It is not in there computer system.

What happens to my settlement money now? My attorney is not calling me back.

Has this ever happened before and is this even possible?

What should I expect?

Re: Bank lost Lawyer's Personal Injury check for Client

oh, my indeed.

have you written a letter to your lawyer asking the attorney to take care of this and send your share of the lawsuit proceeds to you?

sometimes putting it into writing gets attorneys to take action.

it is crazy to have to do it, but if you have asked nicely, and it has been a long time....then you need to take action.
