Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

Can I pay the doctor bill?

My friend is in the middle of a law suit. She would like to be the one to pay the doctors after everything is settled. Is there a Law stating that it must come from the lawyer? Or can she do it?

Thank you

Re: Can I pay the doctor bill?

Her attorney probably signed a letter of protection with the doctors which states that the attorney promises to pay the doctors out of any proceeds from the case. If the doctors don't get paid they may have a cliam against the attorney for releasing the funds to the client.

If the suit involves an automobile accident, please call me because there may be a PIP arbitration that can be filed to get some of the bills paid by the carrier. If it is another type of accident, let the attorney pay the bills from the proceeds.
