May I drive door to door and place my personal real estate flyer in my neighbors mail boxes?

Not if the mailboxes are the roadside mailboxes designated for United States Mail. Check with the Postal Inspector for your area for the regulations on hand delivery. You should also check with your Municipality. Many towns place restrictions on door-to-door advertising.
