Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

house-inheritance

My grandmother passed away and left her house to her 2 daughters and since, they have both passed away and left their halves to their daughters. One had one daughter and the other had 2 daughters . Do all of them have to sign the papers for the real estate company to sell the house if they are all in agreement to sell. Or can only one sign the papers even if she doesn't have power of attorney of the other.

Re: house-inheritance

I believe all parties must sign since they are all "co-owners." However, a power of attorney can sign on their behalf to speed up the process. Contact my office if you need any assistance. Initial consultation is free.

Re: house-inheritance

It would be best to hire an attorney to finalize all the Estates, and in doing so, it would probably be advised to have everyone sign off on everything. that way there are no fights later on... and if there was a fight later on, it would probably be a lot moere costly.
