I have owned two cats for the past 12/13 years. They are like part of the family. A new landlord purchased the building and snet me a new lease stating I cannot have pets. I explained that my previous landlord permitted me to have the cats because I was not going to take the apt. if I couldn't keep my cats. My lease stated no pets, but my pervious landlord said I could move in with them and she never bothered me about them the whole 6 years I lived here. The new landlord insists I get rid of my

Unfortunately, your new landlord does have the right not to permit pets. If your landlord will not allow the cats, your only options are to either get rid of your cats or move.
