Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Property Settlement

My ex and I have in our agreement that when he remarries, he has 90 days to pay me half of the equity in the house. We bought the house in 2003 and I am certain it has increased in value. He now wants to have a realtor friend of his do a ''mortgage assessment'', instead of paying someone to assess the house. He says it will ''save us both money''. I don't trust him and think this might be a way for him to avoid paying me what I am due. Any thoughts?

Re: Property Settlement

you really should have an attorney look it over and advise you. find someone not too far from you who does a fair amount of divorce work.

good luck to you.
