Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Jersey

My boyfriend has been accepted for Social Security. We do live in the same house hold but we are not married. We have two children together. Since he has been fighting to get social security for a few years now, my two girls got back checks for quite a bit of money. Instead of him putting that money in accounts for them, he has put the money in his account. I would like to know what I could do in order to get their money back and have it put into accounts in their name so it is saved for them, not him.

It does not need to be saved for them but must be used for them - not him. SSA will contact him to give an accounting of how he spends the money. If he does not understand that this money is not his but rather must be administered for the benefit if the children, then you may contact the local office to discuss your options, including being named as the representative payee for your children.
