Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

How do I change court appearance date? (39: 3-77)

Yesterday(06/05/06), I received a ticket for tinted windows and the cop marked on the ticket that a court appearance is required to verify that the tint has been removed now the problem I am having is the day of the court date I have a out of state memorial service for a family member that died. Is it possible for me to file a hardship to change the court date, I have already talked to the court clerk who has told me that the date is set by when the office is available. Is it possible to forgo the court date and contact the local DA and show him/her that the tint has been removed and I will pay the tick right now? The ticket is for violation of statute 39: 3-77 and not 39: 3-75. Thank you

call the Court clerk, and ask for an 'adjournment', tell them why and ask how to make a proper written request.

if you want a lawyer to fight it, give me a call.
