Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Greetings,

I got a ticket for careless driving yesterday in NJ, as I was about to get on a ramp, no body/party involved or personal injury, I just got pulled over and got a ticket of $85 fine( 39:4-97 CARELESS DRIVING: LIKELY TO ENDANGER PERSON OR PROPERTY) with optional court appearance, does this come with 2 points on my record if I plead guilty and pay online? should I go to court and fight the ticket?

Thanks in advance

L.L

I would like to know what court this is n. Also are you a NJ driver?

It can be reduced to a non-point offense with a surcharge or without one, depending on the circumstances. A lawyer would help.

It carries 2 motor vehicle points. It is completely your decision. I would request a court date and speak to the prosecutor. Maybe you can avoid the points. If you feel your not guilty you can request a trial and allow the judge to decide. Feel free to call with any questions 201 342 5030
