Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Possession of blue lights for a vehicle.

Request statement of law:

Is it legal for a person not a registered volunteer firefighter to possess any form of blue emergency lighting equipment for a vehicle? Subject, residing in NJ, claims to be a collector of firefighting equipment & memorabilia.

More facts are needed. Has the "subject" been charged with a specific offense? If so, his attorney would need to analyze the charges and the specific facts of the case.

Example: if the "subject" has been charged with impersonating a firefighter (i.e. due to having a flashing blue emergency light in his vehicle), then the issue is not merely one of simple possession of the emergency light.
