Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Posting Bail

Can a city/town make you post bail for certain driving offenses? ie driving while suspended

In my case I was told that since I had a failure to appear over 10 years ago, I had to post bail.

While I was in court there were others who had to post bail for unregistered vehicles and such

Thanks for you answer

Re: Posting Bail

Yes, they can make you post bail. You should also consult with a lawyer about the ticket itself because you can be facing serious consequences on a driving while suspended ticket. Please contact me to discuss this in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Re: Posting Bail

They most definitely can make you post bail, and the suspended license is exactly the reason why they would make you post bail. You will still need representation on the charge, and should talk to an attorney. We handle cases like these, and I won't charge you for your initial consultation.
