Writing a incorrect ticket

I recently received a Speeding ticket.On the ticket the officer wrote the correct liscence plate number but the incorrect state.He wrote NJ instead of NY.Would this make the ticket invalid??

It doesn't invalidate the ticket but it might cause the case to weaken and possibly be dismissed. If it happened in NJ you should seek a lawyer familar with the NJ traffic system who is licensed to practice law there. If it is a NY ticket, you may contact my office by following the links below.
