Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Informal accounting

My mother became ill in April of 2007 and passed away in July. I began paying her bills in April. I sold her house in January of 2008. Is it ok to do the informal accounting of her debts etc. beginning in July at the time of death. The house is the estate and I wanted to list the debt paid off with the money from the house etc. Is it necessary for me to have to list every bill paid since April?
