Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

I recently received a check for my sisters estate for the sum of $1300.00 from her nursing home. She passed away back in June 2009, pennyless and broke,not a pennyto her name.My wife and I have been taking care of her needs for the pass 8 to 10 years. The check is made out to the Estate of Fanny Couzzo.What do I do with this check?

You would need to deposit the check in a bank estate account. Such an account can be opened in a bank after you present letters of administration that is issued by the probate court.
