Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

can i get compensation?

My husband was temporary math instructor, and he coached both the girls' basketball and baseball teams. his employment contract stated that he ''may be required to devote a resonable amount of time to other duties'' in addition to his instructional duties. The evaluation of both instructional and noninstructional duties, including ''the sponsorship or the supervision of out-of-classroom student activities was made once a year. The students' math club holds an annual picnic. The students invited their math teachers. The food was paid for by the math club, and the students were required to submit permission slips to the school. One of the students brought a windsurfer, which the students used. When my husband tried it himself, he fell, was seriously injured, and later died. now can i claim for workers' compensation and employer had already objected it.

Re: can i get compensation?

I believe that your husband was in the course of his employment and that you would be entitled to dependency benefits under New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law. I would also like to invesigate the lack of supervison and training regarding his use of the windsurfer. We can help and our consultations are free. Lets speak this week. Ricky Bagolie

Re: can i get compensation?

First, my condolences on the death ouf your husband. Second, I think that there is a credible basis for claiming that this is a work related injury based solely on the facts that you presented to me. I would certainly feel comfortable filing a claim petition on this case under these facts (provided that we are still within the two year statute of limitations period). I am an attorney who has handled many claims similar to yours in various workers compensation courts throughout New Jersey in the past. I would like to discuss your case with you in more detail. Please contact me at your convenience. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
