Each of you has a monetary interest in mortgaged real estate to the extent of your individual contributions. Each of you has an equal obligation to pay the jointly-incurred indebtedness until it is discharged. In different words, each of you owns 1/2 of any equity in the property, and each of you owes 1/2 of the mortgage, unless you have some other arrangement in writing or unless your contributions were not equal.
