Re: endited with conspiracy to commit fraud over $250.00

Conviction of conspiracy to commit fraud over $250 is a 4th degree felony carrying a maximum jail term of 18 months.

First offenders are eligible for several options to avoid a felony conviction such as Pre Prosecution Diversion, Conditional Discharge, Deferred Sentencing, and so forth. If one completes the probation without incident the case is dismissed or not brought or in some way expunged from the record.

Clearly you need legal representation, because if the prosecution lacks sufficient courtroom-quality evidence with which to convict you, you should stand your ground and proceed to trial.

If you cannot afford to employ a private attorney the Court will appoing the Public Defender to assist in your defense.
