Legal Question in Employment Law in New Mexico

I was deployed to Iraq for a year, during that time, my wife was terminated by her employer. Now that I am back, she is divorcing me. She says that after having to deal with being terminated by herself, that she has gained her independence, and doesn't need me any more. Do I have a case against her former employer for the anguish i am dealing with?

Unfortunately, no. Your wife is solely responsible for her actions, assuming she is over the age of 18. Because she chooses to react in a certain way after being terminated is her choice, not that of the former employer. Unfortunately you will have to go through this most difficult time without blaming anyone but your wife for her decision. Perhaps counseling is a more positive action for you to take rather than blaming the employer.
