timesheet falsification

Is falsifying timesheet records a misdemeanor or a felony if charged?

Can the company expect retribution from the employee?

Re: timesheet falsification

Shorting an hourly employee's hours by an employer is a VERY serious matter and the employer should expect a world of pain if it can be shown that it was done with intent to cheat the employee. The employee most certainly has a claim. If you believe you've been shorted on your hours by an employer you should consult an attorney right away. If you'd like to discuss this with me, your consultation is not charged.

Assuming it was the employee who falsified the timesheets, s/he can expect to be discharged from employment.
