Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

bankruptcy

I have not filed taxes in a few years. I can fill for 2008 and 2007. I am going to. My mum quick claimed a house to me 5 years ago. I was paying the mortgage from Money she would give as I was going to college full time. I got a 70k line of credit and ran up 5k in credit card bills.

House went into foreclosure and is gone. I have no assets and do not work. I am married and live in my father in laws home.

What should I do?

Confused.

Will I get into more troble if I fill bankruptcy.

Re: bankruptcy

You will NOT get into more trouble if you file for bankruptcy. Bankruptcy may actually be the way for you to get a fresh new financial start.

It appears that you would qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which would enable you to eliminate your legal obligation on all of your debts with the exception of your taxes.
