Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

What is claim dismissed exactly?

Hello. I am confused. I took someone to small claims court. The judge heard both sides. Then next day the judge found out that the defendant submitted false and altered papers. He said he couldn't do anything at that time. I waited for my judgement and when I got it it said claim dismissed for me and the defendant. That's it just claim dismissed. There was no explaination as to why it was dismissed. Can I take this guy back to small claims court?

Can I show this time all of the false and altered documents he submitted? Bottom line is he took my money and even if his was also dismissed he won...and I am out $880.00
