Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Engagement ring

My ex-fiancee broke off our engagement because she caught me cheating. She refuses to give me the engagement ring back that I bought her. I proposed on june 26th I believe. I know it wasnt on a holiday. I bought the ring and I have ALL the certifications for the ring. Is there anyway that she will actually be able to keep the ring. I feel like I deserve the ring back because the ring was given to her for marriage and there will be no marriage so I want the ring back. Can you please give me all the information that you have on this matter. thank you

Re: Engagement ring

The law is quite clear on this. Unless she can prove that the ring was given to her solely as a gift, then it must be returned. Depending on the cost of the ring you can sue in small claims court of Civil/District court in her home county.
