Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

First name vs middle name

If I use my middle name instead of my first one (including in my social security)will that create a legal problem? What if I ask for a loan, get a degree from college or get married using my middle name. Will those documents be legal?

Re: First name vs middle name

You are free to use any name you wish so long as you don't do so for fraudulent purposes. Many people use their middle names - C. Jack Armstrong, for example. It is perfectly legal. It shouldn't cause any practical problems if you are consistent, and when someone wants to use your given name be sure your middle name is spelled out, also.
