Legal Question in Construction Law in New York

back in 2009 a metal piece weighing about 200 lbs fell on my neck while I was working. I have permanent damage and cannot do the type of work I knew how to do. Can I sue the contruction company for a settlement? I applied for social security disability and I was turned down. I am receiving medication on a workmens comp case.

You may have a viable case against a subcontractor. But you need to retain an attorney immediately. Please contact my office at 914-220-1088.

You would not be able to sue your employer. That is covered under workers compensation. However, if another entity was in "ownership and control" of the metal piece that fell on your neck, you may have a lawsuit against that entity.
