Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Judgement

We just had all of the money removed from our account. The law office said that we had a judgement against us from 1998. We have never been notified of this and was not contacted about this. The date from the transcript is from 2003. How is this legal.

Re: Judgement

No one here can tell you whether or not it is "legal" with no information at all about the lawsuit or judgment. A lawyer in the location of the lawsuit might be able to help you. Depending on the amount at issue, the expense might be more than the money lost. Of course, if you really owe the money you might consider resolving it with the creditor/lawyer.
