Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Late/Forgotten Invoice

I had my apartment designed by a contractor a year ago and received and paid in full, by check, four (4) separate invoices. I have proof of receipts of payment.

I received a 5th invoice for services rendered from the designer recently. It related to the work done almost a year ago. He claims I was invoiced at the time the work was completed and I knew about it. He claims he sent the invoice to my email and fax several times. I claim I did not have any knowledge of this 5th invoice. He has seen me several times in passing in the last year but not mentioned this 5th invoice until recently. Does he have grounds to pursue this claim?

Re: Late/Forgotten Invoice

If he did the work he can send a late invoice.

Re: Late/Forgotten Invoice

Work done gets paid...unless it is more than you were contracted to do...or it's work already billed and paid for.

Any other questions, ask away.
