Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

convicted of sexual offense without evidence

My nephew was arrested in New York State for sexual offence.

After reading court records there was no evidence at all to come to this conclusion.

Because of the rape shield law he had no defense at all. His public attorney was cited many times for being drunk in court.

I truly now believe he was railroaded. His father paid plenty of money to an attorney to retry the trial--he ran away with the money and is now is prison himself. Is it still possible to help my nephew? If so where do I start? Thank you

in advance for this information.

Re: convicted of sexual offense without evidence

It may be possible to get the case re-tried depending on the situation with the previous attorney and his actions, there may be other options as well regarding relief such as an appeal of the earlier conviction, this however all depends. I would have to be able to examine court documents and speak to all parties involved. Please feel free to give my office a call or send a response email. 2127098303
