Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

under age dating

What age is considered a minor in the state of N.Y.? Is there a law stating that someone of the age of 17 and under cannot date someone of 18 or older up to 21?

Re: under age dating

Age of consent and age of majority are 2 separate things. A person in NY is considered an adult at 18 years of age, however the age of consent for the purpose of sexual contact is 17 years of age in NY.
