Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

fired for being too pretty

I as recently fired from my job (auto biller at car dealership) Their reason was downsizing, however, everyone else they have let go has been replaced. I have heard from several co-workers, at various times, that I was really let go because I was too attractive, and the two women who ran the office were jealous of me. I have always been told by other managers that I was a great hardworking employee. No one can understand why I was let go, I have never been fired from a job before. The treatment from these women during the past few months has been suspicious and has made me want to inquire about the reason I was fired. Should I have a reason to be look into this further? Is there any way to prove this was the reason I was let go?

pretty women

Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be,

"pretty women" are not considered a "protected"

class under the civil rights statutes; (gender,

age, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy).

However, if it could be demonstrated that the two women you refer to treat female employees

adversely as opposed to male employees, you might be on the right track.
