hit and run
I recieved a phone call from a family member saying that my dog I have had for 9 years was hit by a drunk driver and they then ran after words. A friend of mine witnessed it all and told me everything. Just curious what could be done if the person is caught?

leaving the scene after hitting an aniaml is a crime in NYS. You may also try for civil penalties for the value of the animal and the medical treatment.
