Legal Question in Environmental Law in New York

A family member has dimentia.Without anyone knowing ,a relative convinces the family member to name them as sole beneficiary to a bank account.The family member dies and the relative claims their money. The family member lived in Florida but the bank account was with a N.Y. bank. Can the relative be sued in NY? What kind of law does this fall into?
