Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am a 21 year old male from New York State. I had a very brief encounter with a 21 year old female a year ago. She called me two months ago and said that she had just given birth to my child!!! And.... that she was only 16 years old!!!! How can I find out if the child is mine without getting arrested!!!

You won't get arrested. You may get a DNA test. If she refuses, then you may file a paternity petition in Family Court. I would strongly suggest that you hire an attorney if it comes to that.
