Re: Alimony

A variety of factors are considered in determining maintencance, including, for example, the duration of the marriage, means, resources, age and health of each spouse, contributions to the marriage, home and eachother's careers. Maintenance may be awarded without regard to fault. Feel free to call me at 212-367-9167 to discuss your particular case.

Re: Alimony

The length of the marriage is just one factor a court will examine.

I suggest you consult with an attorney to explore your rights.

Re: Alimony

The duration of alimony is determined by the final order of the assigned judge. The length of the marriage is one factor, the age of the party seking alimony is important also. The presence or absence of children counts as well.

The judge takes into account all of the circumstances of each party and which one is the plaintiff (the one filing for divorce) is not important at all. The cause cited as the legal reason for the divorce is unimportant also.
