Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am back

Is it possible to hire a lawyer in New York without going to court? I am not in New York and never plan on setting foot in New York again.

How do I get the papers from a New York court without going through a lawyer? The judge ordered the old lawyer to turn over the records but this never happened before I left New York. I want the court records, not what the lawyer decides to send or not send. I have no idea what was agreed to by the lawyer and what was not.

I want to win custody, I do not want visitation, I do joint legal custody, I do not want joint custody, and I want full and complete custody or nothing! I was never married, but the Judge was issuing a divorce even though he/she knew the marriage was illegal and should have asked, as I had requested, an annulment.

Hoping,

Another Place, another person,

Re: I am back

You can hire an attorney without coming to New York but I am not sure you can win a custody trial in New York without being present. I do not know enough facts about your matter to comment further.

Please let me know if I can be of further help.
