What is the procedure and how expensive is it to change my name to something other than my maiden name following a divorce?

Re: name change

A proceeding must be commenced; the pleadings are not especially complex; it can be initiated and completed fairly quickly. Expense includes something in the neighborhood of $300.00 for court filing fees and related expenses. Different lawyers would charge different fees, but this shouldn't be a Big Bucks item.
